Achievement

Humanitarian relief intervention to over 3,402 displaced persons in 567 house-hold with food and non-food items.

The organization has built the capacity of 45 communities on community driven development approaches for ownership and sustainability.

The organization has empowered 2000 women through capacity building on entrepreneurship skills and livelihood support to boast their petty trade businesses.

Established 3 community structures with the total number of 225 volunteers who assist in community dialogue, identification and reporting of early warning signs, community mobilization, needs and risk assessment.

Conducting annual Lenten Campaign exercises to mobilize resources for humanitarian interventions during disasters.

Establishment of 43 peace clubs in schools with a total 1,913 students (Male = 868 and Female = 1045) who assist in promoting peaceful co-existence in schools and community at large.

Trained 430 participant (Male = 252 Female = 178) from 15 communities on Alternatives to Violence Project aimed at promoting peaceful co-existence and cultural pluralism.

Conducted 3 town hall meetings with 270 constituents in attendance aimed at bridging the gap between the elected and the electorate. The town hall provided a platform for the advancement of good, accountable and responsive governance through constructive engagement with elected representatives.

Carried out 2 round Table discussions with 70 key community stakeholders from Kanke and Bokkos constituency where the engaged their legislators by assessing their performances, developed a constituency charter of demand/Score card and established a monitoring team to observe the level of implementation of certain constituency projects designed as milestone of achievement for the elected representatives.

Trained 80 community members on Civic, Voter and Political Education which enhanced their understanding of the electoral process and contribute in the promotion of democracy in Nigeria.

The organization through it volunteers and staff observed the 2019 general elections in all the five Local Government Areas in the Diocese of Pankshin, compiled and submitted its findings from the election to Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria (CCFN), Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other partners.

Carried out Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) Training for in Internally Displace Persons (IDPs) camps in Bokkos LGA. This helped to improve hygiene and sanitation practices leading to a reduction in the outbreak of diseases in the camps.

Constructed 2 wells with support from CAFOD to meet the water needs of IDPs as well as host community in COCIN RCC Bokkos and in St. John’s Catholic Church Mbar in Bokkos LGA.

With the scarcity of portable water in communities of the Catholic Diocese of Pankshin, the organization has constructed 9 boreholes and 13 wells in 22 communities. This has led to a reduction in the number of water borne diseases received in the Primary Health Care Centres of the communities.

To reduce the effect of climate change, the organization engaged in environmental care training to over 211 community members on the use of improve cook-stove and 178 Farmers on the use of Urine Fertilizer.
